Scriblet

Privacy

Scriblet is built to be private: the app has no account, no tracking and no ads, and nothing you write or say ever leaves your device.

The app

Everything runs locally on your iPhone or iPad. Handwriting recognition and speech output (incl. optional Personal Voice) happen on the device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no sharing with third parties, and no internet access. History and quick phrases are stored only locally. The one exception: when you open “Support Scriblet”, the app asks the App Store for the prices of the voluntary tips. Payment goes through Apple alone; we never learn who tipped and receive no payment details.

This website

For anonymous visitor statistics we use Umami, running on our own server (analytics.smart-byte.com) rather than with an analytics provider. Umami sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses and builds no profiles; it records only the page visited, the referring page, browser, operating system, device type, language and country. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in privacy-friendly audience measurement (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Beyond that we use no analytics and no advertising cookies, only a small preference that remembers your language. The fonts are self-hosted at build time (no request to a font service). The site is hosted on Google Firebase, which may process your IP address to deliver the page.
